NBS: Foreign-exchange reserves are growing
At the end of this year’s February, gross foreign-exchange reserves of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) amounted to 11 billion and 398 million euros, which is 51.9 million euros more than in January, the NBS has announced today.
Compared to February 2018, foreign-exchange reserves increased by 1.6 billion euros. Foreign-exchange reserves at this level provide coverage of money supply M1 of 187 percent and more than five months of import of goods and services, which is almost two times more than the standard.
Net foreign-exchange reserves (foreign-exchange reserves for banks’ foreign assets on the basis of mandatory reserve and other bases) amounted to 8.96 billion euros at the end of February, which is slightly less than in January, when they amounted to around 8.98 billion euros.
