Minister announces when the competition for the allocation of RURAL HOUSES starts

Minister of Village Care, Milan Krkobabic, has announced that on June 28, on St. Vitus Day, a competition will be announced for the allocation of rural houses to young married couples, and he pointed out that the state will allocate up to 1.2 million dinars for the purchase of houses.

Krkobabic said that there were about 200,000 abandoned rural houses with gardens in Serbia, which are available to farmers and young people who want to stay and live in the countryside.

The Minister noted that there was great interest in buying rural houses and that the only condition was that married couples were up to 45 years old.

The government should adopt a program for the allocation of funds, and I expect the public call to be announced on St. Vitus Day, it will be great symbolism. We want people from Kosovo and Metohija, from southern Serbia, Medvedja, Crna Trava, not to go to Belgrade and farther, but to go in the opposite direction, we will try to keep them,“ Krkobabic said for Pink TV.

The Minister expects farmers who live in family households and who want to become independent to apply, but also young people who live with their families as tenants in the vicinity of large cities and who cannot solve the housing issue with bank loans.

„We want houses to be given to those who really want to live in them. Let the farmers ask if there are empty houses in their area, and the local self-governments should make an assessment,“ added Krkobabic.
