Matijevic CLOSING DOWN dairy farm in Vrbas, workers have a choice – ANOTHER POSITION or SEVERANCE PAY
The Dana Dairy in Vrbas, in the majority ownership of the Matijevic group, will cease to operate.
This was confirmed for N1 TV by Zoran Matijevic, co-owner of the „Matijevic“ Meat Industry, stating that the problem has existed for several years, because the dairy has operated with losses.
He points out that the workers will be offered to be employed in other positions or to receive severance pay – depending on their own choices.
„We intend for the dairy to continue working in the future, but at the moment, the most optimal solution is to stop its operations,“ Matijevic says.
Previously, the Vrbas Local Alternative announced that the Matijevic agrar company became the majority owner of the Mirotin group more than a month ago, and the group also includes Dana Dairy and Sava Kovacevic agricultural enterprise.
They stated that this would not have been disputable if the information had not appeared that the dairy would stop working, as well as that the shutting down of the farm, which also operates as part of the Sava Kovacevic agricultural enterprise had been planned.
The press release also lists that employees were offered to go to the retail facilities of the Matijevic company, or to the company’s slaughterhouse on Rumenacki put in Novi Sad.
