Matic: Food market is stable, prices are expected to drop at the end of the year

Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic has said that the food market is stable and that the food supply is good.

The Decree of the Government of Serbia on Restricted Prices of Basic Food Items is in force until June 28.

„When we talk about the food market in some much more difficult times – at the beginning of the covid pandemic, when the situation was more complex and complicated, when we talk about the halt in some production processes, interruptions of some distribution chains – we had a good supply of the market,“ Minister Matic told RTS TV.

The biggest concern is imported inflation, and fighting inflation remains the highest priority, Matic said, adding that inflation was expected to decline in the second half of the year.
