Martinovic: State is not spending a cent on RTS, entire amount of 900 million is for RTV

Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government Aleksandar Martinovic has said that the work of RTS as a public broadcaster will not be funded at all from the state 2023 budget.

He stated that the amount of RSD 900 million was earmarked for financing exclusively Radio-televizija Vojvodine (RTV).

At the session of the Serbian Parliament, in response to the MPs’ questions, Martinovic said that“the government is not spending a single dinar on the financing of Radio-televizija Srbije“.

„By the Law on 2023 Budget, the amount of RSD 900 million was allocated for RTV as another public broadcaster, because RTV cannot ensure the regular functioning of its business system without state intervention,“ said Martinovic.

Opposition MPs announced in the Serbian Parliament that they would not support the Law on Public Broadcasters, adding that they were not satisfied with the work of RTS.
