Mali: Study for the National Stadium to be completed until May 10th

A feasibility study for construction of the National Stadium will be completed until May 10th, Finance Minister Sinisa Mali has announced, expressing his expectation that construction will start as soon as the middle of next year.

The Government has already provided approval for the tender procedure for selection of the designer, and Mali says for „Tanjug“ that design could be completed by the end of the year.

The Minister has said the National Stadium will contribute to development of that part of Belgrade, that this represents a great development opportunity, not only for Belgrade but for the entire Serbia as well, „similar to the Belgrade Waterfront project“.

„For a long time, sport has been more than a sports activity, it is also a major business. Together with Romania, Bulgaria and Greece we expressed a joint candidacy to host the Football World Cup 2030. That is why we need a stadium of an adequate capacity. „

On the other hand, I expect this whole part of the city to begin developing through the entire concept of „stadium city“. When you build a stadium, you also have an amusement park there, then companies such as Ikea, Bauhaus arrive, and you create possibilities for residential and office buildings, for the new IT park, Mali has said.

The most important of all unimportant things in the world will cost Serbian citizens at least EUR100 million. The National Stadium will be able to host 60,000 supporters.
