Mali announces aid to enterprises that do business with Ukraine

Finance Minister Sinisa Mali has announced that the Government of Serbia will adopt a measure that provides assistance to companies, namely for about 1,400 companies, whose business is focused on the markets of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

They will have the possibility to use the second guarantee scheme to refinance obligations from the first guarantee scheme, Mali said at a conference on the impact of the crisis on the Serbian economy held in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

„Although this assistance seems low, we believe it will mean a lot for the companies whose business is affected by the conflict in Ukraine,“ Mali added.

Mali explained that the new measure would allow these companies to use the second guarantee scheme, which is already in force, to refinance obligations under the first guarantee scheme.

„These are favourable 5-year loans, with a grace period of two years,“ he said.
