INJURIES of workers are getting more common, ministry APPEALS to employers

The Ministry of Labour of Serbia and the Labour Inspectorate have appealed to all employers and employees to apply all the provisions of the Law on Safety and Health at Work in order to reduce the number of injuries that have become more frequent in recent days.

Employers are, as stated, obliged to conclude an employment contract or another appropriate contract with employees in accordance with the law, as well as to take care of professional training and education on safe and healthy working conditions, as well as to provide preventive measures to protect life and health.

Employees should apply the prescribed measures for safe and healthy working conditions, use the working tools and hazardous substances for the prescribed purpose, use personal protective equipment at work and inform an employer or another authorized person in case of observed deficiencies.

Irregularities in the field of labor relations and safety and health at work can also be reported to the labor inspectorate via the free hotline 300 300 807, which is active every day for 24 hours.

As it is reported, in the first three months of 2021, the Labor Inspectorate carried out about 14,500 inspections and visits to registered and unregistered entities, half of which were in the field of labour relations and the other half in the field of occupational safety and health, as well as 55 supervisions of unregistered entities.
