How much will we SAVE on tolls through North Macedonia this summer?

Serbian tourists will save 760 denars (about 12.5 euros) on tolls per car when traveling through North Macedonia from both directions in the summer season, the Government in Skopje announced.

A spokesman for the Government of North Macedonia, Dusko Arsovski, said that the government had adopted the information that Serbian tourists were exempted from paying tolls for transit along Corridor 10 („Friendship“ highway) in the summer season from June 15 to August 15. Arsovski specified that the Ministry of Finance was in charge of transferring money to the account of the Government for the purchase of 200,000 M-smart cards that would be given to tourists from Serbia at the entrance to North Macedonia from both directions.

„Regarding the calculations of how much money will be saved, everything is clear. There will be 760 denars on each card, which is the fee for the transit along Corridor 10 through North Macedonia. „Making a card costs 100 denars, which means that the cost per vehicle is 860 denars,“ he said at a press conference at which he explained the government’s decisions adopted yesterday.

Arsovski said that it was estimated that 200,000 cards should be made, which would enable free tolls for Serbian tourists in the summer season, based on data from 2019, when the largest number of foreign vehicles that passed through North Macedonia was registered.
