Highest foreign investment in SERBIAN FILM sector, fund of US$25 million launched

British financier of independent productions Head Gear Films is launching a financial fund worth US$25 million to finance projects in Serbia in partnership with the Balkanic Media production company based in Belgrade, a member of the Serbia Film Commission. According to Head Gear Films, the fund offers loans and finances for Balkanic Media’s service productions, primarily television series, and feature films that plan to use incentive measures of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia for investing in audio-visual production. “I have always wanted to expand our business operation to other areas. We are building our partnership with Balkanic precisely on the growing portfolio of television projects, while simultaneously laying the foundations in other territories. I think that that is why Jonathan English and James Gibb (Balkanic Media) are perfect partners for the venture in Serbia,“ says the founder of Head Gear Films, Phil Hunt. This agreement, according to Balkanic Media’s founder, Jonathan English, allows Balkanic Media to provide a range of financing options to its clients – producers, studios and TV networks, including financing the state return on money invested.
