Government allows limited export of flour, oil, wheat, corn

The Government of Serbia has introduced quantitative restrictions on the export of wheat grains, wheat flour, corn and groats and sunflower oil on a monthly basis.

Such a decision was made by the Government in order to successfully respond to the threat of market disruptions caused by significant growth in demand on the world and domestic markets.

It approved monthly quotas for the export of 150,000 tons of wheat and corn, 20,000 tons of flour and eight million litres of refined sunflower oil, the media reported.

„It will be possible to request an approval for the export of a maximum of 20 percent of approved quantities per product group per month in a single request. If exporters do not export or if they exceed the approved quantities, they will not be able to submit an export request in the following month,“ the statement reads.

How and where are requests submitted?

Requests for the export of limited quantities of wheat, corn, flour and refined sunflower oil can be submitted electronically to the e-mail address [email protected], said the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management.

As pointed out, requests will be submitted from the 20th to the 25th day of the current month for the following month, while those for May will be submitted from April 22 to 28.

A request can refer to the approval for the export of a maximum of 20 percent of approved quantities per product group per month.

„If exporters do not export or if they exceed the approved quantities, they will not be able to submit an export request in the following month,“ the ministry warned. Today, the government also adopted the decision on the payment of RSD 10,000 to the employees in education and scientific institutes and research and innovation centres.
