FRILENSERS starting a PROTEST: State ignores our demands

The Association of Internet Workers called on individuals and organizations to have a digital protest, due to the failure of Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali to respond to their demands to suspend retroactive tax collection and start negotiations on the future legal status and taxation method of workers on the Internet.

„Last week, the Association of Internet Workers submitted its requests to Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali and Director of the Tax Administration Dragana Markovic, asking them to stop the current collection and initiation of tax procedures and start urgent negotiations with us. Although the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister stated that they are ready for negotiations, they have not yet responded to our requests. Now is the time for them to hear each of us individually and for us to make it clear to them that negotiations must take place,“ the Association announced.

As they further state, the digital protest would entail a joint action of sending mass emails, as well as calling phone numbers of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance, in order to show how many of them there are, and that they are united in their intention not to agree to, as they say, being intimidated.
