Foundations of a Chinese investment worth US$ 1 billion
Chinese Shandong Linglong laid foundations of its new plant in Zrenjanin, within an investment which state authorities announced as the largest one in northern part of Serbia.
In presence of state authorities of the Republic of Serbia and management of Chinese company, at the industrial zone „Jugoistok“ in Zrenjanin, a cornerstone was laid and commencement of realization of the biggest greenfield investment in Serbia and the biggest economic investment in Zrenjanin in history was made official – construction of the plant of Chinese tire-production company Shandong Linglong Tire.
The plant will bear the name Linglong International Europe d.o.o. Zrenjanin and, according to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, history, as well as future of Zrenjanin, Banat and Serbia is being made with laying of cornerstone.
He said that two more investments will be made in Zrenjanin besides Linglong, which will employ around 400 people. He invited representatives of Chinese company, as they produce tires for Volkswagen, to „have a good word or two about Serbia“ with that company as well.
