Fewer and fewer buyers: Serbian Fiat operating at one third of its capacity
February production in the company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia ended during middle of the last week, and as announced, production and assembly lines will again be launched on March 5th.
Production of the 500L model was interrupted again due steady decrease in demand from the European market, while sale of Sumadija’s „big fica“ in North America has been venial for a long time.
There were seven and a half work days in Kragujevac based Fiat in February, during which around 3,000 finished cars left the production line.
Since the beginning of the year until now, a total of 7,000 cars have been produced in Kragujevac, which is somewhat more than a third of usual bimonthly production.
FCA Serbia, according to available information, will have up to ten working days in March and following months, until the middle of the year.
Those familiar with circumstances in the car industry think that Fiat, with drastic decrease in production of the 500L model, and with all benefits that it has, is already dangerously close to business on the verge of profitability in Kragujevac.
