Export of wheat to Egypt agreed
Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic agreed with Egyptian officials on commencement of export of Serbian wheat to that country which, as he said, could increase the value of bilateral cooperation in field of agriculture from current 26 to US$100 million.
As announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, at the meeting with Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ezzaldin Omar Abusteit and Minister of Supplies and Foreign Trade Ali al-Muselhi Nedimovic agreed on finalization of procedures related to export of beef, sunflower, corn and other agricultural products from Serbia.
“Serbia has commenced recapturing the Egyptian market, which is inhabited by over 100 million citizens.”
The current exchange between two countries in field of agriculture amounts to US$26 million, and following reached agreement it should increase almost four times and exceed US$100 million,” said Nedimovic, whose visit to Egypt was the first direct contact between officials of the two country in field of agriculture since breakup of the SFRY.
