Drama surrounding the position of theatre manager: Is he resigning or not?

Manager of the National Theatre Dejan Savic has denied unofficial insights of the “Blic” daily that he will resign from his position following his meeting with the Minister of Culture Vladan Vukosavljevic, as he confirmed for Nedeljnik.rs that he is not resigning from the position of manager.

Manager of the National Theatre, following his meeting with the Minister of Culture Vladan Vukosavljevic, has decided to resign. He should do that until Wednesday, thus stopping the further conflict in the National Theatre and preventing strike of employees, the “Blic” daily has announced unofficial information.

A part of the ensemble of the National Theatre requested Dejan Savic’s resignation about twenty days ago, following his deposal of an acting director of drama Zeljko Hubac.

After Savic ignored their position for days, National Theatre Drama Trade Union SINGLUS sent a written request to Managerial Board of the Theatre with their demands. Following request by members of the trade union, Savic repeated that he has no intention to resign.
