Djordjevic: Unemployment rate can drop below 10 percent
Serbia is on the right track of reducing the unemployment rate below 10 percent, as well as of being the first country in Europe without a waiting list for retirement homes, said Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Zoran Djordjevic.
Along with the reduction in the unemployment rate, Djordjevic also sees the amendments to the Law on financial support to the families with children and the project “Say no to illegal work” as the biggest success of the ministry in the first year of the government of Ana Brnabic.
According to Djordjevic, the Law on financial support to the families with children represents the beginning of the fight of the Serbian Government to change the demographic image of Serbia, to encourage increased birth rate.
Djordjevic said that the project “Say no to illegal work” had led to reduced unemployment rate, and that Serbia was on the right track of reducing unemployment rate in the coming period below 10 percent, the ministry said.
