A lock on eight agencies
In the first six months of this year, the inspectors of the Tourism Inspection Sector carried out a total of 584 checks and, at their proposal, work licenses were withdrawn from eight travel agencies.
Assistant Minister for the Tourism Inspection Sector, Vera Bozic Trefal, has told the Beta agency that in six cases licenses were withdrawn because the agencies did not provide a travel guarantee: these are the agencies Ok Travel based in Krusevac, Giramodo, Safra&e Sawas, Planeta Promet, Cruisebrand, Travel based in Belgrade.
The license was withdrawn from the agency Sunise Torus based in Loznica because it cancelled a trip, and the money paid was not refunded to the passengers within the legal deadline, while the licence of S.A.B. Travel was withdrawn because no accommodation was provided during the tourist trip.
Vera Bozic Trefal has explained that licenses are issued by the Tourism Registry of the Business Registers Agency and that the procedure for the withdrawal of the license is conducted in another sector of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, based on the proposal of the Tourism Inspection Sector.
Out of the total number of licenses withdrawn, in six travel agencies, irregularities were identified in the regular inspections, while two agencies lost their licenses after being reported by clients.
