Dear Serbian citizens, you do not have a job because you lack skills

Director of the National Employment Service (NES) Zoran Martinovic has said today that Serbia faces the problem with unemployment since many people do not have the necessary qualifications, skills and capabilities that employers are looking for.

He has said at the conference of the Centre of Public Employment Services of Southeast European Countries in Belgrade that one of the topics of this assembly will be improvement of the training and education program for the unemployed.

„For years bachelors of information-communication technologies, electronic and electrical engineering, construction industry, mechanical engineering, professors of mathematics, physics, English and German language and pharmacologists have been in demand, in field of higher education,” Martinovic has said.

He has added that workers with lower education professions, for which necessary skills are needed in fields of construction industry, tourism and hospitality, are in demand as well.

He said at the opening of the conference that unemployment rate in Serbia is 11.9 percent, which is 2.9 percent less than in the first quarter of this year.

The NES will organize a conference of the Centre of Public Employment Services of Southeast European Countries on September 24th and 25th, which consists of 10 countries, including Turkey.
