BIZLife list „30 under 30“: Djordje Ogrizovic, science
In 2017 Djordje Ogrizovic graduated from “Treca beogradska gimnazija” as a Valedictorian, and before that he was also the best pupil of his generation at the elementary school “Petar Petrovic Njegos.” Now he is a student of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy at the University of Belgrade. He has won over 100 prizes, both in domestic and international competitions. During 2017 he won the second consecutive gold medal at the International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS) in Stuttgart, in the field of Environmental Protection, while in 2016 he was named the best young innovator among high school students at the competition of the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia. He received the „Braca Karic“ award for scientific and research work, and he is the youngest winner of this award since it has been established. This year he received “Svetosavska nagrada” of the Ministry of Education, the highest national award in the field of education. During his ongoing education he has conducted a total of 11 research papers and has been a scholarship recipient of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. He is a two-time winner of the International Artwork Competition „Illustration of a Fairy Tale.“ This year he has been selected as finalist of the World Essay Writing Competition, among several tens of thousands of essays written by students. He represented Serbia at numerous international events: the world’s largest children summit in Artek (2013), the World Geography Olympiad in Poland (2014) and Russia (2015), the International Conference of Young Scientists in Romania (2016) and Germany (2017) and at the European Student Parliament in Great Britain (2016). He is a member of the Regional Centre for Talents “Belgrade 2”, Research Centre “Petnica”, in the geoscience program (where he was elected associate during the second year of high school) and the Centre for Innovation „Tacka preseka“.
