Amy Winehouse gets monument in Belgrade
The City of Belgrade will announce an international competition for the conceptual design for a monument to Amy Winehouse in the Lower Town of the Belgrade Fortress, where she held her last concert, announced Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic.
„I hope that next year, at this time, Belgrade will have a modern sculpture at the place where Amy held her last concert,“ said Vesic.
The famous English singer-songwriter, Amy Winehouse, held the last concert of her life in the Lower Town of the Belgrade Fortress 10 years ago, on the night between June 18 and 19. After a little over a month, the famous singer passed away.
An investigation into the cause of her death showed that the singer died in London on July 23, 2011 at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning.
