Ahead of jubilee Belgrade Dance Festival

The Belgrade Dance Festival celebrates two decades of continued success and international recognition. As in previous years, the program is sensational, although the jubilee carries a special glow and the selector’s decision that all the performances should instil hope and enthusiasm. In honour of dancing, top artists and great troops will gather, open important topics that analyse modern society through an interesting and diverse repertoire of movements, creating moments that have the power to change the world and trigger the most beautiful emotions. Under the slogan „Together, We Celebrate Dance“, the promoters of the next festival are dancers born at the time when the first editions of the event which became an international brand were created.

Thanks to this festival, today Belgrade is an important stop in the biography of artists who create trends, a place where new productions are discovered and well-known and young authors are presented with equal attention. The up-to-date programs determined the position of the event on the international map, while high standards and bold introduction of new choreographic signatures and aesthetics improve audience’s expectations and dictate content creation. Presenting dancing through its supreme achievements, the festival won over audiences on its path to its twentieth anniversary. Since its inception, nearly 500 choreographic works have been presented, with an average of 20,000 spectators and 100 accredited journalists from the country and abroad attending the festival each year. The Belgrade Dance Festival has developed thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture of Serbia, the City of Belgrade, embassies and cultural centres of the participating countries, as well as the EU Delegation to Serbia. Long-term cooperation with the Provincial Secretariat for Culture and the City of Novi Sad is important for the implementation of the program in Vojvodina.
