A good way to fill budget of the city: THREE MILLION DINARS in half a day from TRAFFIC TICKETS

Ever since amendment of the Decision on Communal Order came into force on Monday, which increased fines for illegal parking, driving and restriction on tramway tracks, pedestrian crossing, in parks and pedestrian zones to RSD 25,000. Communal police wrote 117 tickets for illegal parking only until 3 p.m. This means that city earned RSD2.9 million in one afternoon by fining drivers, the „Vecernje novosti“ daily reports. According to new decision, if the vehicle is parked in square or an open area, driver will pay the fine in the amount of RSD25,000, while fine is RSD 5,000 if vehicle is parked on a green surface around residential buildings. Number of traffic tickets that communal officers wrote on Monday represents proof that many residents of Belgrade are not familiar with more severe fines. A fine of RSD 25,000 is almost a third of average March salary of residents of Belgrade, which was RSD 68,015 (RSD 44,716 in Sopot).
