Construction of Sabac-Loznica road begins: From Belgrade to Sabac in 45 minutes
Construction of the Sabac-Loznica high-speed road, about 78 kilometres long, began this week, and the value of the works, which should be completed by the end of September 2024, is EUR 247.5 million.
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, attended the beginning of the works and he said that the new road would make life easier for people in Macva and Jadar and attract new investors, which meant higher salaries and pensions.
„People who live here are grateful to their country, but we managed to do that thanks to their patience, faith, dreams and strength to push through difficult reforms,“ Vucic said.
The President emphasized that the road Ruma-Sabac would be ready by September 2023, and that that meant that it would take 45 minutes to get from Belgrade to Sabac.
The trip from Belgrade to Loznica, as he added, would take an hour and 10 minutes, when the project was completed.
The section is part of the 77-kilometer-long Ruma-Sabac-Lozica highway built by the Azerbaijani company Azvirt, and the contracted price of the works is EUR 467.5 million.
