Vesic would like to „DECORATE“ works: Art motifs across the scaffolding

The Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic stated that in early March, members of the City Assembly would vote on the decision that everyone who builds using scaffolding must have curtains with printed artworks of the National Museum. An agreement on the matter was reached with the National Museum, Vesic stated with „Studio B“, adding that all investors would be able to „download“ paintings of artworks using links on websites of the City of Belgrade and the National Museum free of charge, „Beoinfo“ reported. He said that in the future this will be the responsibility of all investors, because it is done everywhere in the world. Vesic reminded that a new general urban plan for the City of Belgrade, which will come into force in 2021, will introduce new rules when it comes to buildings that have been declared monuments of culture. According to him, the new plan will clearly define buildings that are monuments of culture, and the Institute for the Protection of Monuments will rapidly work on studies for their designation as monuments of culture. „This year we will proclaim more buildings as monuments of culture than we did in the pasr 25 years,“ Vesic said. When it comes to other buildings that are not monuments of culture, yet are a part of cultural and historical units, a rule will be introduced that the appearance of the facade is approved by City’s Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, so that, although new, they fit into the existing environment. In addition, as Vesic said, there will be an obligation to have sculptures, reliefs or works of art on the spatial cultural and historical units of the facade.
