Belgrade as EBRD seat in the Western Balkans

The Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Alain Pilloux has said that Belgrade will be the regional seat of EBRD for all six countries of the Western Balkans.

“This is an important change and a sign that the EBRD wants to be even more present in the region, in the entire Western Balkans and Serbia, it being the most important country of the region,” Pilloux has said during his conversation with Minister of Transportation, Construction and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic.

At the meeting in Belgrade Minister Zorana Mihajlovic has said that there is good progress in the projects Serbia is realizing with financial support of the EBRD and she expects even more efficient cooperation with the EBRD in new projects, including construction of the first section of Nis-Merdare-Pristina highway, from Nis to Plocnik.

According to statement, “Realization of the projects that EBRD funds on road Corridor 10 and Road Rehabilitation and Traffic Safety Improvement Project, modernization of railways as well as planned investments in water and air transport.”
