What is happening in Washington? Serbian side says that we are offered independence of Kosovo and Metohija, Americans deny this

Special envoy of the US president for the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, Richard Grenell, has written on his Twitter account that it is not true that president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, was presented with a document requesting the signing of Kosovo’s independence.

„It is not true,“ Grenell wrote, responding to the publication of the portal The Pavlovic Today that he had presented Vucic with a document requiring the recognition of the independence of Kosovo.

The Pavlovic Today portal announced earlier that sources close to the Serbian president informed him that Vucic was presented with a document, at the Serbia-Kosovo negotiations in the White House today, whereby he should recognize Kosovo’s independence.

Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, who is a member of the Belgrade delegation, told reporters earlier during a break at the meeting in the White House that there was a document on the table whose one point implied mutual recognition of Serbia and Kosovo, and that President Vucic was under enormous pressure.

„We have never received a worse document since the negotiations with Pristina started. There were 16 points on the paper, on the table, of which the point 10 implies mutual recognition. Out of about twenty people present, not only Albanians, they react to our delegation’s every word very aggressively, against us,“ said the Minister.

President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, met today in Washington with special envoy of the US President for the negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia, Richard Grenell.
