We pay 30 percent higher price of internet than rest of the Europe, and we will have to wait for cheaper roaming

Minister of Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic has admitted that we are paying 30 percent higher price of internet than rest of the Europe. When it comes to lower price of roaming services, there is no particularly good news on that front as well.

Ljajic says lower prices of roaming cannot be expected soon, because they must be preceded by signing of several agreements.

„We are paying 30 percent higher price of internet than rest of the Europe. We would start with gradual abolition of roaming services for the internet, as first decrease would be to 75 eurocents, then 45 eurocents in 2020 and 20 eurocents in the end,” Minister has explained.

Along with decrease in price of roaming services for the internet, as he says, they will also try to change services for both voice calls and SMS. He says that the first precondition, on which the EU insists, is agreement signing by all six economies of the Western Balkans.

„We have an agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia. They are asking for signing of an agreement that will include Albania and Kosovo as well. I expect this phase to be completed by the end of the year or in the spring,” Ljajic has stated with Pink TV station.
