„Wages are not much higher abroad and life is numerous times more expensive than in Serbia“

Serbia cannot stop people from leaving, but if they choose to do so, they should do it legally so that the state of Serbia can protect their rights, the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic said. While having a guest appearance at RTS, Djordjevic said that Germany had been informed that Serbia had suspended departure of medical workers and the following step would be to terminate the agreement. „We cannot stop migrations. It is inappropriate that, now when we all talk about stopping migrations, we encourage it to a certain extent. That would be opposite to what we are doing,“ the Labour Minister said. Serbia, as he says, is making progress and has a plan and a goal – an average salary of EUR 900. „The salaries are not much higher abroad, life is numerous times more expensive than in Serbia and the quality of life is not much higher, and everything earned is spent on living,“ the Minister says, adding that Serbia has something to offer. „We are the most beautiful country in the world and we have a social life that does not exist anywhere, the cost of living is lower, the quality of life is increasing day by day and it is now already at a satisfactory level.“
