Vision of Belgrade 2030: Faster growth, new symbols and tripled salaries

Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, has stated that the growth of Belgrade is crucial for further accelerated growth of Serbia, which is why she believes that the new development project „Belgrade 2030“ is extremely important.

„In 2020, as much as 42.1 percent of the total GDP of Serbia was created in Belgrade. If Belgrade stops, Serbia will also stop,”said the Prime Minister at the presentation of the Plan of Strategic and Operational Goals for the Development of Belgrade until 2030.

She added that at the moment, despite the fact that Serbia had „strong Nis and strong Novi Sad, Cacak and Kragujevac, the vision and strength of Belgrade for further growth are of immeasurable, essential importance for the further development of Serbia.“

Brnabic stated that in the project of Belgrade’s development until 2030, there were three areas that she expected to coincide with the future priorities of the Government of Serbia for further growth of the country.

„The green agenda comes first, followed by the continuation of digitalization and further modernization of services to citizens, health and education system, but also the digitalization of the green agenda, i.e. the introduction of the smart city concept“, said the Prime Minister.

In her opinion, new symbols of Belgrade will be the line park, new bridges, Terazije plateau which will be landscaped, new ecological buses and public bicycles, boat transport, as well as a new building of the Faculty of Music, a concert hall, Creative Centre „Lozionica“, as well as Nikola Tesla Museum, which will be located in the old power plant.
