Trade Union: Debt of Zastava Oruzje exceeds EUR 40 million due to poor management

The independent trade union of the Zastava Oruzje factory opposes the proposal of the Ministry of Defense to appoint Amir Osmanagic to the position of dismissed member of the Supervisory Board, as Osmanagic was in that position for more than two years, at the time when the „complete destruction of the factory system“ occurred and debt increased to more than EUR 40 million.

The press release of the trade union states that on January 21, the Assembly of the company Zastava Oruzje AD dismissed the representative of the Ministry of Defense in the Supervisory Board, Slobodan Cikiric. Osmanagic, whose appointment is now proposed, was a member of the Supervisory Board from March 2017 to October 2019.

The trade union stated that Osmanagic was brought back to the Supervisory Board, although he managed the factory together with President of the Supervisory Board Ivica Marjanovic for more than two and a half years, when the factory system was completely destroyed due to constant dismissals of executive directors and lower management staff, carried out by the Supervisory Board.

It is emphasized that the wasteful spending of factory’s money in the past now prevents full financing of production, which is why the crisis in the factory is manifested through the lack of many resources for the purposes of the production process.
