Serbia will have the first Sputnik V vaccines produced at the Torlak Institute in 15 to 20 days, announced the minister without portfolio in charge of innovations and technological development, Nenad Popovic.
„In the next 10 to 15 days, the substance will be on its way from Russia at a temperature of two to eight degrees, and Torlak will have to use that substance within 10 to 15 days. At that time, we will approximately get the first vaccines. We are talking about hundreds of thousands of vaccines,“ he stated with RTS.
Popovic emphasized that Serbia has invested more than EUR 50 million in that institute, in order to start the „full production“ cycle of the vaccine at „Torlak“ at the end of the year, i.e. to produce the substance in Serbia, which is expected, as he said. said, early next year.
As the media reported earlier, Russia’s Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology confirmed the quality of the vaccine produced at the Torlak Institute and approved production of the Sputnik V vaccine by this institute.
