The first route of the „Turkish Stream“ ALREADY in preparation

Preparatory works on the first route of the „Turkish Stream“ through Serbia have already been carried out in the agricultural districts of villages Veliki Izvor, Grliste, Lenovac and Bacevica. Crews that carry out preparatory works are in the field 24/7, „Glas Zajecara“ web portal reports. Works on construction of the „Turkish Stream“ have commenced in the surrounding area of Novi Sad at the end of April, and their completion is planned during this year’s month of December. The company „Gastrans“, which majority owner is Gazprom, is executing work on the 403 kilometres long gas pipeline. It is expected, if work is being completed according to planned dynamics in Serbia in Bulgaria, that initial gas supplies will go through this gas pipeline as early as January 2020. The „Turkish Stream“ gas pipeline is divided into four routes. The first route spreads from the border with Bulgaria to Cuprija, the second route goes from Cuprija to the Danube River, the third route goes from the Danube River to Gospodjinci and the fourth from Gospodjinci to Horgos, where gas pipeline leaves Serbia. Preparatory works on the first route, which beginning is near Zajecar, are already underway. The portion of preparatory works has come to an end in the agricultural districts of villages Veliki Izvor, Grliste, Lenovac and Bacevica. Crews that carry out work on rough ground preparation are working round the clock, in order to meet project deadlines. More than 50 thousand tons of pipes will be used for the construction of the entire gas pipeline, and pipes will soon be laid on the first route of the „Turkish Stream“ gas pipeline as well, spreading from Zajecar to Cuprija. Portion of the gas pipeline will go underneath rivers Beli Timok, Velika Morava and Tamis, as well as under the „Zajecar – Nis“ railway track, which is currently not being used for either cargo or passenger transport, due to reconstruction. Works on preparation of terrain are currently being conducted in the agricultural district of the village Boljevac. Preparatory works are completed in the agricultural district of the village Bacevica, and crews continue to execute preparatory works on further envisaged route toward Cuprija. According to unofficial information, intensification of works on the construction of the first route of the „Turkish Stream“ gas pipeline is expected in the coming days.
