The Chinese would like to build hydroelectric power plants on the River Moraca
Chinese company Norinco has submitted technical and commercial offer to the Montenegrin Government for construction of eight cascading hydroelectric power plants on the River Moraca, web portal „Analitika“ reports.
If duration of concession for the use of river will be longer than 30 years, which is expected, decision on this project, based on Law on Concessions, will be made by the Montenegrin Assembly.
Total installed capacity of eight power plants is 293.6 megawatts and annual production will be 894,82 gigawatt hours.
Although details of the offer are confidential, it is estimated that value of the project will not be less than EUR500 million.
