„Surplus in the IT sector EUR 800 million, average salary RSD 127,000“

The value of Serbia’s export in the IT sector is EUR 1.4 billion, and the surplus is as much as EUR 800 million, said President Aleksandar Vucic. He added that about 70,000 people were employed in that sector in Serbia, and that the average salary was RSD 127,000. „When you bring Brose to Pancevo, where the net salary will be EUR 1,900, when you open MTU in Pazova… that is the higher level we were looking for. When you employ people, you have a second, third salary in the family“, Vucic told Pink TV. He also recalled that the average minimum wage had been increased from RSD 15,700 in 2012 to RSD 30,200 last year, which was a „tremendous spike“. „I understand privately owned enterprises, which find it difficult to pay such amounts. We must take care of workers’ rights, but we must also provide the best conditions for those who develop our country, so we are trying to find the best solution,“ said Vucic.
