Support for the economy „weighs“ at EUR 37.2 million, what are the obligations of businessmen?

Support to the economy since the beginning of the year has amounted to more than EUR 37 million.

By the beginning of August this year, the Serbian Ministry of Economy has signed 33 agreements with an investment value of EUR 37.2 million, as part of the support program for domestic businessmen, who operate as micro, small or medium-sized enterprises.

As the ministry announced, the companies received state aid with the obligation to maintain the employment of 3,900 employees, but also to hire an additional 230 workers on indefinite-term contracts.

Which sectors are to receive support

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Economy, the agreements refer to various areas of business, starting with food products, the metal industry and products in the construction industry, furniture production, and plastic products.

The support program for domestic businessmen who operate as micro, small or medium-sized enterprises, which started in the last quarter of last year, aims at equal local and regional economic development through the improvement of production.

Nine more agreements for investment projects until the middle of the month

The Ministry of Economy announced last week that nine more agreements on reinvestments, i.e., the realization of new investment projects, worth EUR 320 million, will be signed by mid-August, which will secure 2,500 new jobs.

As specified, it is about the expansion of the production program of electronic equipment for motor vehicles at the existing location in Pancevo, as well as the service centre in Novi Sad of the company ZF Pancevo.

ZF Serbia is investing in Serbia for the fourth time, and the plan is to create 589 new jobs in Pancevo by the end of 2027 and invest EUR 238 million, while the investment project in Novi Sad will employ 370 workers and by the end of 2025 invest more than EUR 6.7 million.

The company Shenchi Automotive is also planning to build a facility for the production of parts for motor vehicles in Kragujevac, while Stax Technologies is planning to invest in the production of general-purpose machines and appliances in Cacak.
