    Starbucks coming to Serbia

AmRest Holdings, the largest restaurant operator in Central Europe has announced today that it plans to open stores of the U.S. coffeehouse chain Starbucks in Serbia this year.

“The first Starbucks store will be opened during this year in Belgrade, a city with a long-standing tradition of coffee enjoyment. AmRest is the lead operator of Starbucks cafeterias in the region of Central Europe and Serbia represents the latest market on which this company is opening the first Starbucks store,” a company statement said.

The statement quotes AmRest’s Starbucks President Adam Mularuk, saying he is very pleased that this company will be able to offer “a unique Starbucks experience” to guests in Serbia, by opening the first Starbucks store in Belgrade.

“This country has a rich coffee culture and we look forward to being a part of it, providing a place where customers can enjoy high quality coffee and discover our passion,” Mularuk has said.

The company AmRest, which opened the first store in Prague back in 2008, now has more than 300 Starbucks cafeterias in Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.

Starbucks, founded in Seattle in the United States back in 1971, has more than 28,000 cafeterias all over the world and it is considered the world’s largest company for roasting and sale of special coffee.
