Serbia to receive third international airport

The plan is to have Boeing 737 aircrafts at Ladjevci Airport near Kraljevo that will participate in traffic. This was announced by the Minister of Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic, B92 reports.

The minister reminded that Serbian government reach a decision last week to make this airport a joint-use one, i.e. civil-military airport, adding that she expects the Government to sign a contract with operator for civilian part of the airport on Friday, this being the enterprise „Aerodromi Srbije“.

„At that moment Ladjevci Airport near Kraljevo will become a joint-use, international airport. The Serbian government will invest around EUR8.6 million in expansion of the runway and the necessary equipment, mostly security equipment,“ said Mihajlovic.

She points out that the hardest part of the job is over, and now money that is secured should be used for the most efficient completion of that work, thus Serbia will receive an international airport in Kraljevo as well, besides Belgrade and Nis.
