    Serbia gets THIRD AIRPORT: From MORAVA toGermany and Turkey (PHOTO)

    In order to board an airplane and fly to thedesired direction, the citizens of western Serbia first had to travel toBelgrade or Nis. As of 28 June, these trips will become apast, because on St. Vitus Day, Morava Airport will finally be opened for civiltransport. The last preparations are inprogress in Ladjevci, and in all likelihood this will be a modern airport.“A lot of effort has been invested, as wellas financial resources in order for our country to get the third civil airport.We are diligently working these days, before the opening, and by St. Vitus dayeverything will be ready for the first flights,“ says director ofAerodromi Srbije, Mihajlo Zdravkovic, for the RINA agency. Fifty-two people will be employed at Ladjevci Airport,and the opening of this airport will bring immense economic and touristpotential. Global airlines are alreadyinterested in cooperation with the civil Morava Airport, and the first planeswill probably fly to Turkey and Germany. Asstated by the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, as of2012, about 15 million euros were invested. In 2019, EUR 11 million more willbe invested in Morava Airport.
