Russians Have Found a Solution for the Agrokor Case?
Russian Sberbank and VTB Bank could soon own a between 30 and 46 percent of Agrokor’s shares, the Vecernje Novosti daily reports.
This proposal was put forward by the Special Commissioner of the Croatian Government Fabris Petrusko. If the court accepts it, the Russians will take over the management of the largest Croatian company.
This comes as a surprise because the former government commissioner Ante Ramljak almost excluded Sberbank from the deal, which resulted in a number of lawsuits being filed. In the meantime, Ramljak resigned and the new commissioner got the Russians back to the negotiating table, in order to reach an agreement. Other banks that issued loans to Agrokor will also take part in managing the company, as well as funds that provided capital when Agrokor was threatened by bankruptcy.
