Prohibition of employment by the end of 2019

The Serbian government has decided to extend validity of the Law on the Manner of Determining the Maximum Number of Employees in the Public Sector by the end of 2019.

According to explanation, reduction of wages, employment ban and rationalization of the number of employees in the public sector are measures that contributed most to reduction of expenditures and success of fiscal consolidation.

The Government has also adopted the Bill on Compensation for the Use of Public Goods, which will in one place consolidate all fees paid for the use of natural resources, goods of general interest and goods in general use.

This, as they stated, establishes clear rules in the system of public revenues, secures optimal use of public goods and guarantees predictability of operating costs for the economy.

The Bill on Amendments to the Law on Citizens Income and the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Contributions for Compulsory Social Insurance have also been adopted at the meeting of the Government.
