    One of the most successful shipyards in Serbia is being sold

    According to the Novosti daily, the sale of Perlez based “Shipyard Bomex 4M” was advertised yesterday.

    One of the most successful Serbian shipyards „sank“ into receivership and then faced bankruptcy, at the moment when it has reached its tenth anniversary. A total of 35 vessels were produced at the Begej dry dock not far from Zrenjanin, since the opening back in 2008 until 2012. Back then, due to recession and decrease in number of orders, the company faced financial crisis and produced fewer and fewer ships. All attempts by the owner of “Bomex group” and management to recover the company were unsuccessful.

    The public bidding is scheduled for December 21st, with the starting price of RSD315.2 million, which is 50 percent of the estimated value.

    The bankruptcy proceedings were initiated at the Commercial Court in Zrenjanin in this year’s February, following blockage of an account of 1,097 days, for the amount of RSD172 million, and at the request of very company that admitted it has extensive debts and it cannot repay them. Creditors immediately reached an agreement to settle their claims by selling shipyard’s bankruptcy estate.
