Mali: Government considering a decrease in excises
Serbian Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali has stated that the Serbian government is considering a decrease in excises and effects of such decision are still estimated.
“We are working around the clock with Prime Minister (Ana Brnabic) in order to find the best measure and support citizens in this matter. However, we are absolutely not responding to those street protests and street requests,” Mali has said at the press conference in the Serbian government.
He has explained that not every measure can be observed as isolated and priority is to increase competitiveness of the economy via measures that will contribute to growth of economic activities.
Mali has also pointed out that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) does not think a decrease in excises will contribute to overall growth.
