Japanese investments in Serbia reach EUR 200 million
Japanese investments in Serbia have reached EUR 200 million, more than half of which in the past two years, while foreign trade amounted to EUR 400 million, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) said at the Serbia-Japan Business Forum.
There are great opportunities for cooperation in the food industry, new technologies, production of electric vehicles and development of IT services,” said Director of the Sector for Strategic Analysis, Services and Internationalization of the SCC Mihailo Vesovic.
He added that Japan was one of the biggest donors in Serbia, recalling that the two countries were marking 140 years of friendship this year.
„In 2022, Japanese investments were among the most numerous in Serbia. They are growing every year, and in 2021 alone they increased to over 108 million euros. From 2010 to March this year, foreign direct investments from Japan reached 200 million euros,“said Acting Director of the Development Agency of Serbia, Rados Gazdic.
He added that Japanese companies that opened their production facilities and expanded their operations in Serbia did not only bring investments but also knowledge and high technologies.
