
IT sector “more lucrative” than agriculture
Export of software from Serbia has exceeded raspberry export and the entire industry records constant growth, and according to latest research export of ICT services now exceeds corn export as well.
As Startit reports, those are results of the fourth research by Vojvodina’s ICT cluster “ICT in Serbia – At a Glance.”
It is estimated that market services, when it comes to information technologies, might have double figures in annual growth rate and the thing that is particularly significant in the report is estimate that value of the IT market will reach half a billion euros this year.
Development of IT field can be seen in digitalization of traditional production, with hope that technological solutions will make domestic industry competitive outside the borders of our country. Hope of market growth is also in Internet of Things, Business Analytics and Big Data.
They state that around 50,000 people are employed in the field of ICT in Serbia, and average salary is EUR1,433.
Those employees, as it is added, use half of resources opposed to an average in all industries, and they generate six times higher profit.
The constant need for educated cadre in field of information technologies is always present.
