In Serbia, more and more dads take parental leave
Secretary for Social Welfare of Belgrade, Natasa Stanisavljevic, has said that 132 fathers realized their right to parental leave in 2018.
She told Radio televizija Srbije (RTS) that data from previous years showed that the realization of that right was increasing.
According to her, in 2017, 79 fathers realized the right to parental leave, and one year before 69 of them realized that right.
In order to realize this right, as the Secretary explained, both a father and a mother must be employed. Also, the procedure and paperwork are the same, regardless of whether parental leave is taken by a mother or father.
