HERE maps Serbia in 3D (PHOTO)

HERE Technologies, the world leader in digital mapping and location services, will map parts of Serbia this spring with high-precision three-dimensional (3D) technology as part of its efforts to offer the most advanced maps of the world.

HERE plans to drive through the streets of Serbia from March to September 2022, using a car equipped with state-of-the-art technology for recording high-precision road data, including vertical and horizontal traffic signals. A clearly marked HERE car will also capture 3D and panoramic shots of the streets, as well as points of interest such as shops, gas stations and restaurants.

The information will be used for creating rich and detailed maps of Serbia designed to support highly autonomous vehicles and other advanced services that improve road safety, reduce traffic congestion and enable people to move more easily in urban areas.

In the upcoming months, the vehicle will travel on major roads across the country and the streets of certain cities. The entire recording process takes place without stopping and without affecting the normal flow of traffic.
