Full support to the project Jadar near Loznica
Minister of Environmental Protection Goran Trivan has said that the ministry will give full support to the implementation of Rio Tinto’s project „Jadar“, which includes the exploration and development of lithium deposit in the vicinity of Loznica.
Trivan pointed out that this project was of national and international significance and that the success of cooperation was guaranteed by the commitment of Rio Tinto to applying the highest environmental and occupational safety standards, the ministry says in a statement.
The representatives of Rio Tinto informed the minister about the progress in the implementation of the project and especially pointed out the achievements in planning the reduction of environmental impact and the goals of sustainable development. CEO Marnie Finlayson emphasized that the vision and commitment to protecting the environment expressed by Minister Trivan represented a great incentive and support for the successful implementation of the Jadar project.
She pointed out that Rio Tinto would continue with the dedicated business improvement in order to ensure a healthier and safer environment. At the meeting, successful joint cooperation in the implementation of the previous phases of the Jadar project was confirmed and the continuation and intensification of cooperation was agreed on.
