Fuel price can go down as well
Finally some good news for Serbian drivers. Due to a constant decline in oil prices on global stock markets, fuel price on petrol stations in Serbia has decreased, and in all likelihood prices will continue to go down.
According to results of the regular weekly analysis by the Association of Petroleum Companies of Serbia, the average retail price of a litre of gasoline is lower by RSD4.4 when compared to a price from a month ago, and price of diesel decreased by RSD2.
Fuel prices are still falling in both Serbia and countries of the region, and based on circumstances on the global market, such trend will continue in the next couple of days as well, Secretary General of the Association of the Petroleum Companies of Serbia Tomislav Micovic has stated with “Blic biznis”.
However, the price of diesel is still among the more expensive in the region. Thus, at the end of this week, the average price of gasoline BMB95 in retail was RSD154 per litre (EUR1,294), while Eurodiesel cost RSD168.7 per litre (EUR1,418).
This is primarily a consequence of a decline in gasoline and diesel stock quotes, as they are used to form wholesale fuel prices, and the speed at which these changes are transferred to retail prices primarily depends on supplies of previously purchased goods in petrol station reservoirs. Precisely because of that we are recording a slightly higher price range of gasoline and diesel at different points of sale these days, from RSD2, RSD2.5, Micovic emphasizes.
„From October 3rd to November 22nd oil price fell by as much as 27.5 percent. Such a sudden decline in crude oil price suggests that offer on the global market is far higher than demand, i.e. that expected effect of sanctions against Iran, which many world analysts have announced, not only failed but also has a completely different outcome,” Micovic explains.
