„Foreign exchange inflow from tourism reaches record high EUR 1.59 billion“
The foreign exchange inflow from tourism in Serbia in 2021 amounted to 1.59 billion euros, which exceeded the result in the previously most successful year 2019, said the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications.
According to Minister Tatjana Matic, the record was broken primarily thanks to domestic tourists who were the most numerous, but also foreign tourists who recognized Serbia as an attractive destination.
She pointed out that these data encouraged us and inspired optimism that 2022 would be even more successful, emphasizing that the tourism sector had once again shown great potential for development.
The Minister recalled that in 2019, which was the most successful tourist season ever in Serbia, the foreign exchange inflow amounted to 1.4 billion euros.
The ministry pointed out that, according to the report of the National Bank of Serbia, the foreign exchange inflow from tourism increased in 2021 by 47.2 percent in euros, compared to 2020.
